St. Patricks Rainbow
ROYGBIV - sound familiar? ️🌈 Strengthen fine motor and color recognition skills with this fun St. Patricks inspired GLO-ing rainbow sensory activity!
✂ Cut craft foam into 1 in strips and let your toddler thread through the Pals with the coordinating color (each Pal has a little slot on the side-this is what enables liquid to cross over the water activated sensor and emit light-also a great STEAM learning opportunity)
The craft foam will make the Pals float on top of the water for extra colorful fun! (hint: also try this in the bathtub!) Use this as an opportunity to color sort/match and talk about each color by name -Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue/Indigo, Violet. (ROYGBIV - the sequence of colors in the Rainbow) ✨BONUS✨Combine Red (Sammy) & Yellow (Alex) to introduce color mixing (Red + Yellow = Orange)
Use scoopers (we love handy scoopers by Learning Resources - because they are just the right size for picking up Glo Pals!) to gather Pals & coins, putting each color in a color coordinated cup or bowl. Count while doing this.
So many fun ways to play! We hope this activity inspired you! Let us know if you try it/or show us your own twist!
